After your KVK registration you automatically receive a VAT identification number. Put it on your invoices and website.
Not mandatory for a sole proprietorship, but smart: keep business and private separate. Saves you sorting-out later.
Keep all receipts and invoices (7-year retention). Choose simple accounting software or outsource it.
Working 1,225 hours a year in your business? Then you qualify for the self-employed deduction. Count acquisition, admin and travel too. Start on your first day.
Required: your name or business, KVK number, VAT number, invoice number, date, amount and VAT. A mistake here costs you time at filing.
Usually quarterly. Expecting under €20,000 turnover? See if the KOR (small-business scheme) fits you, then you do not charge VAT.
Business liability and disability insurance (AOV) are worth considering. Not mandatory, but protection.
As a freelancer you build your own pension. Set something aside, however small.
Not as a cost, but so your deductions and return are correct. We will look with you in English, Dutch or Polish.
